The T.S.R. II was the prototype for the production model of the Swordfish. It had followed on from the T.S.R. I which in turn evolved from the S.9/30. The photo here shows it as it first flew with small bumps on the Townsend ring. A smooth Townsend ring was fitted in 1935.
