Aircraft gathered at Vanimo in the search for missing Cessna 206 VH-ATG, operated by Aerial Tours. The Ansett-MAL DC-3 brought in drums of extra fuel for the search aircraft. The F27 was on one of its regular twice weekly services that overnighted at Vanimo. Despite a 12-day search, VH-ATG was not found. The wreckage was eventually spotted in January 1971.
