On static display at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2024. The US Navy procured an identical version of the Cessna L-19A powered by a 210 hp Continental O-470 engine as used by the US Army, differing in exterior paint. The 60 OE-1 aircraft delivered from 1951-53 were flown by the Marine Corps, some of which served in the Korean War. All were redesignated the O-1B in 1962 and went on to serve in the Vietnam War for liaison duties, as FACs and in the artillery spotting role with HMM-362, VMO-2 and VMO-6. Eight O-1Gs were obtained in 1968. Later the OE-2 was developed out of the OE-1 for the USMC.
