On display at Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum. This F-14 is painted in the colors of VF-41 "Black Aces" that operated the type from Apr 1976 to Oct 2001. On 19 Aug 1981 a pair of VF-41 Tomcats flying CAP from CVN-68 USS Nimitz was fired on by two Libyan Su-22s over the Gulf of Sidra. Both Libyan jets were shot down, marking the USN's first air combat since the end of the Vietnam War.
