Test flown as G-2-12 4 February 1966 and delivered to the SAAF's 24 Squadron 17 October 1966 where it served until retired and transferred to the National Museum of Military History 10 May 1992. Between 1987 and 1989 this airframe underwent a major overhaul said to have cost 13 million Rand at the time. There are speculations that this was a modification to make the aircraft capable of delivering South Africa's nuclear weapons. However, the nuclear programme was shelved and the weapons destroyed.
