On display at IWM Duxford. This Lancaster was the first of a batch of 300 to be built by Victory Aircraft in Canada. Test flown in 1944, it went to Britain in 1945 and was assigned to No. 428 Sqn RCAF. It returned to Canada in June 1945 for conversion to maritime reconnaissance. After retirement the Lancaster was put on public display in 1965. It was sold and shipped to the UK in 1984. Sold in 1986 to the Imperial War Museum, it was restored over an eight-year period. It has an unfaired ventral turret and the H2S fairing for the downward radar is visible. A Dambuster mine lies below.
