Captain G. Jaspis DFC warms up the P&W R-2800's before departing on the first ever transatlantic scheduled service from Manchester. Sabena's DC-6B took 10 hours 22 to reach Gander for refuelling, then flew on to Idlewild (later JFK). Obtained from Manchester Airport many years ago.
