Part of a Falklands War exhibition that contained a number of aircraft from that 1982 conflict.

Withdrawn from flying duties in 1967 and used for several years as an instructional airframe at RNEC Manadon, this Whirlwind was moved to Yeovilton in 1976 with the intention that it be preserved in the FAA Museum. However this never happened and it was scrapped in 1988.

Note the hand-painted fuselage marking "FI0367/1" - perhaps related to its transportation from the Falkland Islands to the UK as a war prize.

VR137 was built in 1947 as the last Wyvern TF1 pre-production aircraft. It was never flown and in 1950 was transferred to the College of Aeronautics at Cranfield as a training aid. In 1963 it was bought by the Historic Aircraft Preservation Society and three years later, in 1966, it was acquired by the Fleet Air Arm Museum.

The third NA-39 development aircraft, XK488 first flew on 31 October 1958 and was withdrawn from test duties in 1966.
