An aircraft with an interesting past, flew in the extraordinary TIFS (Total In Flight Simulator) configuration in the early 1970s, with an extra cockpit grafted onto the nose. Converted back to normal and bought by Great Lakes 12.79, name change to Air Ontario 1.81; to HP-1222CTH 4.92, HK-3969X 11.94, YV-OTC 3.00 and then apparently YV2079 in 2007 although no sighting recorded since 1999

American Airlines '400 Astro Jet' prepares to depart from Cleveland Hopkins. It served AA from April 1966 until it was stored in May 1971.

Built as a Dove 2A by DH at Chester in February 1951.

American's short fuselage "Astrojet" was delivered in July 1967 and served the airline until January 1981.

1955-built Heron 2 converted to Riley Heron in 1969. Served Fischer Brothers from October 1975 until November 1983.

Originally built as a Convair 440 in September 1957. Converted to CV540 in 1958. Further modified to CV580 in 1967 and operated by North Central from May 1967 until merger into Republic Airlines in July 1979. Fleet number 551 wears NC's attractive colour scheme at Cleveland in 1971.
