Ex VH-EDE, this 172B became VH-RKO in January 1963.

VH-RCW was first registered in December 1960. Looking faded and unused in 1976 and was formally withdrawn from use in 1977. It next had a Cessna 150 blown into it during a cyclone, then was hit by a taxiing Cessna 206. By 1983 -RCW was dismantled and stored in an airport compound. Its fortunes changed in 1985 when it returned to the register. 10 years later and fully restored, it was a regular visitor to air shows and fly-ins.

VH-MCX was reregistered VH-KIJ in June 1991. Note the mix of beer kegs and milk churns, hopefully empty, waiting to be collected in the tropical sun.

VH-MCO was destroyed when it flew into a ridge near Fitzroy Falls, New South Wales, in low cloud. Both people on board perished.

Despite its apparent derelict state, VH-DUE was restored and remained current in September 2017. It had been ground-looped and run through a fence landing at Rockhampton in June 1970. Not long after the photo, it was finally dismantled and trucked to Victoria for repairs.

Crowley Airways was reportedly a Papua New Guinea-based operator, but with all aircraft registered in Australia. Blanning had operated VH-DSP for at least three years prior to this photo. The aircraft was still registered in 2017 but its true status is in doubt. It suffered major damage at Medlow Bath, New South Wales, on July 20, 2004 when it cartwheeled into a pile of felled timber stacked next to the runway. It ended on its back.

VH-DAO was registered in November 1966. It suffered accident damage in 1970 and was rebuilt with a 150hp engine to become an Airtourer 115 A1. In 2015 -DAO was withdrawn from use.

VH-BPH came to Australia from Uganda via Britain. It was registered in January 1976 and exported to the US as N3851B in 1983.

Registered in 1973, VH-BJB remained current in August 2017
