This is former USAF F-4C 64-0864. It was delivered to Spain in September 1972. Although it looks in splendid condition here, it was actually standing in a long row of Phantoms that had just been wfu in February 1989, so just a few months before our visit to Torrejon. This aircraft survived and is now preserved at Torrejon with the Spanish Air Force Air Experimentation and Development unit CLAEX. The photo was taken by Paul Geerts as my own camera sadly malfunctioned that day.
