Delivered new in 1996 and here arriving on a charter that routed Victoria - Bella Bella - Sandspit - Prince Rupert - Victoria. It carries revised tail markings that may have been experimental, but not adopted.

Imported new in 1997 and here arriving on a charter flight from Port Hardy (CYZT) is this CMA 1900D, replacing the usual DHC-8.

Built in 1976 and one of several imported by Air Ontario in 1989 for Air Canada Connector service. Here in use as an air ambulance with CMA. On 28 July 2005, while with Northern Thunderbird Air, it was flown into a mountainside at Shovelnose Creek/BC and destroyed by fire.

Built in 1995 for Great China Airlines and imported for Central Mountain Air ex 5Y-BWG in May 2022. It was doing famine relief flights in Southern Sudan. Here arriving from Port Hardy (CYZT) on a charter flight.

Built for Tyrolean Airways in 2000 and here just arrived on a charter from Smithers (CYYD) as "Glacier 8570". It is still in the basic livery of Continental/United from when it flew with Commutair.

This Cessna A185E was imported to Canada in 1971 and was part of the fleet of Central Mountain Air Services in July 1983 when I flew in it from the floatplane base at Tyhee Lake to Fredrikson Lake to work on a mineral exploration project for Gerlie Gold. Our helicopter-accessible tent camp in the mountains was next to an old wooden prospectors cabin and much to my surprise the yard containing parts salvaged one the decades from the wreck of Junkers J.13, CF-ALX which crashed at nearby McConnell Lake on July 23, 1933; Most of CF-ALX was salvaged by WCAM in 1981. Now in the Technikmuseum Berlin.

Arriving from Port Hardy (CYZT) is this 1992 built DHC-8. It was imported in late 2018 ex N816EX. This is on the penultimate leg of a charter (probably for Dept of Fisheries & Oceans) that went CYVR-CYYJ-CYAZ-CYZT-CYYJ-CYVR.

Delivered to Central Mountain Air in October 1997, this Beech 1900D has also operated for sister company Northern Thunderbird Air since 2014. In the early connector days, Central Mountain had small Air Canada and Air BC titles on the nose forward of the entry door.

First leased by Venezuelan airline Avior Express as YV-654C, Central Mountain Air bought this 1900D in 2000.

Arriving on a charter flight from Vancouver is this 1991 built Dash-8. Original customer was Allegheny Commuter where it was N810EX.

Wartime C-47 43-49382 was transferred to the to RCAF as Dakota 981 on delivery. It was renumbered 12960 before withdrawn and sold in 1970. Pictured on lease to Central Mountain Air from Bradley Air Services / First Air (from 1989), the aircraft crashed onto a frozen lake in a sudden snow squall on Apr 4, 1991.
