47-089 served with the 84th BS, 47th BW in 1952. Withdrawn from operational use at RAF Sculthorpe May 13, 1958 and to Etain AB, France for fire practice use.

In 1947(!) this B-17 was put up as an eye-catcher at Art Lacey's Bomber Gas & Restaurant on SE McLoughlin Boulevard in Milwaukie, OR, on the west side of Route 99E. In this photo the faded name "Sky Chief" can still be seen on the nose, taken from Texaco's gasoline brand of the same name. Nearly 50 years later, in March 1996, the forward fuselage and the tail gun turret were removed for restoration, but the rest of the aircraft remained at the restaurant until also removed in December 2014. This C-47A was delivered to the USAAF in Feb 1944. Later struck of charge and transferred to the United States Air Force Museum in Apr 1961. It has been on display in Alaska ever since, initially on loan to the Alaska Air National Guard Museum at Kulis ANGB, and since the early 1980s to the Alaska Historical and Transportation Museum near Palmer, AK. In 1992 this museum changed its name to Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry (MATI) and moved to its current location at Wasilla Airport, taking this C-47 with them.

Based at Altus AFB

Arriving straight out of a Middle East combat deployment, this F-15E Strike Eagle of 336th Fighter Squadron "Rocketeers" burns some serious rubber at RAF Lakenheath (UK). The squadron was deployed from homebase Seymour Johnson AFB (SC) to the Middle East in support of the fight against ISIS/ terrorism. On their way home, sixteen "Rocketeers" strikers made a fuelstop at Lakenheath.

High humidity caused some vapors over the wings of the F-15E of 336th Fighter Squadron "Rocketeers" during its landing at RAF Lakenheath (UK). The aircraft arrived with fifteen sisters and brothers straight from a combat deployment in the Middle East at Lakenheath.
