The second Canadair-built Sabre chase plane owned by Boeing to be registered N8686F, this aircraft is now an exhibit at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. It was still operational when the photo was taken outside the museum. The Sabre had been towed from the flight test department for the benefit of an Australian media party visiting the museum, which at the time comprised only the Red Barn.

The Monomail (two built) was designed as a technology demonstrator for all-metal low winged commercial aircraft. Initially intended for mail operations, but here modified with an enlarged cabin for eight passengers. Lessons from this design led to the twin-engined Model 247 in 1933. Photo obtained from Boeing.
