"Skjold Viking" was an early short-fuselage DC-6 delivered to DDL as OY-AAE in May 1948. It is seen in SAS markings with "Scandinavian" in the fin band whilst taxying on the inner engines towards LHR North. It was sold as XA-NAM in December 1959.

Early production short-fuselage DC-6 delivered to SAS on 27 May 1948. "Anund Viking" is taxying towards Heathrow North using its inner engines. Sold to Transair Sweden in March 1960.

Early production short fuselage DC-6 "Prinses Beatrix" replacing KLM's usual Convair 240 on the Amsterdam schedule. This was the first DC-6 series to visit Ringway.

Sabena's short fuselage DC-6 on finals to Ringway when operating the scheduled first class passenger service from New York (Idlewild) via Gander. OO-SDD was delivered to the airline on 23 July 1951 and was broken up as 9Q-CBM in 1986.

The ninth DC-6 to be built, delivered to American Airlines in March 1947. Under overhaul for Mackey International at Fort Lauderdale in 1974.

Seen framed by another DC 6 this aircraft looked to be in pristine condition. It was cancelled as destroyed in December 1991

Ex-VH-BPH with British Commonwealth Pacific Airways, ZK-BGC joined TEAL in May 1954 (ZK-BFC not taken up). In 1961 it was sold to the Royal New Zealand Air Force as NZ3633. In the background are an RAAF Canberra and DH98 Mosquito VH-WWS. The latter's history is known in detail and it was based at Sydney airport in between December 17, 1956 and February 19, 1957, so it is assumed that is when the photo was taken.. Photo taken by an unknown photographer in the second half of 1954. This aircraft had been VH-BPF with British Commonwealth Pacific Airways, a joint Anglo-Australian-New Zealand airline. BCPA closed down after a major accident and the remaining DC-6s transferred to TEAL, which was owned by Australia and New Zeaand. VH-BPF became ZK-BGA on May 13, 1954 (ZK-BFA was not taken up, contrary to many sources), and was sold to the New Zealand air force as NZ3631 in 1961, the year TEAL became an entirely New Zealand-owned airline. TEAL would later change its name to Air New Zealand. Negative held by Bill Gray, Perth, Australia.
