With it's original US Navy serial, this C-47 is pictured at the DC-3 Airmada (50th Anniversary fly in) held in Abbotsford, BC. With the Confederate Air Force when photographed, the warbird is with the American Airpower Heritage Flying Museum at the time of uploading.

Ex US Navy R4D-5 17217. Served the Arctic Research Laboratory at Point Barrow Alaska as N64605 from 10.71 until retired in 02.77.

Delivered to the USAAF as 43-49007, then transferred to the USN as R4D-6 BuNo 50760. Regns after the FAA include N7675C, N2005J, N232GB and N87815.

Operated at this time by the Colombian civil aviation authority, this former USN R4D-6 was acquired from the FAA (N69). She remained in Colombia, flying commercially with Interandes and ADES until crashing as recently as 2007 (see my shot as HK-1149 with Interandes)

Ten years on from my first shot of this ex-FAA C-47, here she is operating for Interandes. Sold to ADES in 1996 and later Aerovanguardia. Crashed 31.7.07 en route from San José del Guaviare to Villavicencio when one engine failed, forcing crew to carry out an emergency landing in a rice field, but repaired and now flying again with Sadelca
