Tu-154s P-552 and P-561 with IL-62s P-885 and P-886P. The intended use for the latter Ilyushin, which was ferried from Havana in July 2012 in basic Cubana colours, was unclear at the time (ex CU-T1280 c/n 3749648). It was later broken up for spares but in 2015 the nose was seen attached to a training building

This P-61 was donated to the National Air Museum (as it was then known) as early as 1950, after five years of test work. However, NACA soon asked to borrow it for high-altitude experimental work. After about 50 flights as a mothership, dropping recoverable swept-wing test bodies, it was returned in 1954 to museum storage. Some 52 years later, it was unveiled for display in original test markings

Operated at RAF Coltishall from 1967 to 1969 for Saudi pilot training, the T.55 was basically a two-seat F.6 with ground attack capabilities. Returned to BAe at Warton in 1.86 as ZF598 as part of trade-in for the Saudi Tornado deal

Just out of the trees in time on the BW903 to Port of Spain, one of a pair of ex-LAN 767s which have finally taken over the Gatwick operation in place of leased Omni aircraft. The other is 9Y-LGW, more appropriate for the service; ironic that when BWIA reformed as Caribbean, they sold their Heathrow slots making the LHR registration on this one irrelevant
