This C5 had just arrived with a fleet of cars for the visit of Geroge Bush to Scotland for the G8 Economic Summit at Gleneagles.

This C-5 served with the 68th Alrlift Squadron/433rd Airlift Wing at Lackland AFB, TX before being retired to AMARG during Feb. 2013 where it is now preserved on Celebrity Row.

This was the first C-5 to be transferred to Wright Patterson AFB. Named "City of Fairborn". Unusual visitor for MCAS Yuma.

The low sun setting in the West helped illuminate the inside of this cavernous aeroplane.

'Reach 483' discharging cargo on the 'Keyhole' after arriving at the Australian International Airshow. This shot clearly shows the upward-hinging nose and forward ramp of the Galaxy, in addition to the tail ramp.

Crashed short of the runway at Dover AFB after taking off and experiencing an engine malfunction. Luckily there was no fire and, although a number of the crew were injured, there were no fatalities. The aircraft was scrapped not too long after this photo was taken.

This is one of only two C-5Cs to have ever existed, modified to transport complete rocket and space station components. For this, the troop compartment was removed and the aft cargo door was enlarged. It was later converted to C-5M.
This 60th AMW aircraft from Travis AFB presents a nice view of its impressive undercarriage, as it climbs out of Los Angeles' southern-most runway. A four-wheel nose gear and four six-wheel main bogies enable the C-5 to operate from semi-prepared airfields.

The spot on the corner of Branscombe Rd and Creed Rd, Suisun City, was just as good as I hoped for, but the traffic was not. The only plane I was able to photograph here was this recently upgraded C-5 from Dover, Delaware.
