This aircraft served with UAL for 22 years--15 as a -61 before upgrade to -71 as seen here. Climbing off 27L.

Delivered to UA as a -61 7/68 and cvtd to -71 9/82. Cvtd to (F) in 8/90 after being sold by UA and carried the regns PP-SOP, PT-WBM, EI-CGY, CC-CAR and XA-MAS.

Delivered as a -61 8/69, converted to -71 4/82, and later to -71(F) as N772UP.

Seen not long after conversion to -71 on short final for 9R. Later converted to freighter for UPS as N730UP.

Tire smoke on 9L at MIA. Later sold to UPS, converted to freighter, and re-registered N718UP.

Less than two years on from my shot of this aircraft in Kenyan colours, here she is with Zambian. Converted to freighter in 1995 and joined Emery as N811AL; broken up at Roswell, NM in 2005

More than 20 years in service with United, but still going strong! United had their Eights re-engined during the early 1980s, and continued to operate them well into the 1990s. Most were later sold to various operators and converted to freighter. That included N8081U, which became SE-DLM with Time Air Sweden in 1992, and N827BX with Burlington Air Express in 1993. It was sold for scrap in 2004.

Previously F-GMFM with Pointair and N917R with ONA, this was originally JAL's JA8041 from 1.70. Later appeared at LHR in the smart liveries of two neighbouring African countries, Kenya and Zambia, on lease from 9.88 and 10.89 (as 9J-AFL) respectively
