Delivered to Japan Air Lines as DC-8-61 JA8041 in 1970. To Overseas National Airways as N917R in 1981. Had recently been converted to a DC-8-71 when this photo was taken. To Pointair as F-GMFM in 1985, Kenya Airways as EI-BWG in 1988 and Zambia Airways as 9J-AFL in 1989. Sold as N811AL and converted to a DC-8-71(F) freighter for Emery Worldwide in 1995. Withdrawn from use at Roswell, NM in 2001. Still there in 2004. Scrapped.

This airliner was built for Japan Air Lines as a DC-8-61 in 1970 and was later converted to a -71 version. It was finally used as a freighter for Emery; in 2003 it was seen in storage at Roswell NM. - Seen here in service with ONA on very short final to runway 27 of Fürsty Air Base during a troop charter.

Previously F-GMFM with Pointair and N917R with ONA, this was originally JAL's JA8041 from 1.70. Later appeared at LHR in the smart liveries of two neighbouring African countries, Kenya and Zambia, on lease from 9.88 and 10.89 (as 9J-AFL) respectively
