This B720 had a very colourful career. It was delivered to American Airlines in July 1960 and later flew with Invicta (G-BCBB), Somali (6O-SAU), DETA (C9-ARG), Air Ceylon (4R-ACS) and Monarch (G-BCBB), before going to Maof in October 1981. In 1986 they sold it to the Israeli AF as 4X-JYG, and it is currently preserved as such at the museum at Hatzerim AFB, Israel.

Still looking good at the end of her Ethiopian career, this 720 first served Continental as N57201 between 4.62 and 11.74. To Davis Monthan for KC-135 spares reclaimation and eventually broken up

This aircraft was destroyed on 1st August 1982 during 14 hours of non-stop bombing of Beirut by Israelis as a reprisal for the shooting by PLO terrorists of the Israeli Ambassador to the UK. Six MEA Boeing 707s and 720s were destroyed.
