Previously 51 blue. Preserved at the Central Aerodrome Museum at the Frunze Central Airfield/Khodynka, Moscow. The museum closed in 2003 and the aircraft moved on. The site was redeveloped.

This Flogger J2 is just one of the many interesting aircraft to be seen at the wonderful Newark Air Museum.

The MiG-27 shares the basic airframe of the MiG-23 but is optimised for air-to-ground attack. Dissatisfaction with the MiG-23BN led to the further development of the basic airframe to accommodate; a stronger undercarriage, simpler intakes, a shorter exhaust nozzle and a revised nose with a downward-sloping profile for improved pilot visibility. This example is on display at the Central Museum of the Air Forces at Monino.
