RAF Spitfire TE294 was transferred to the South African Air Force in 1947, but suffered extensive damage in a landing accident in 1951. Remains stored until 1981 when restoration was begun by a private collector who later brought the project to Canada in 90s. Restoration was continued at the Comox Air Force Museum and later at Vintage Wings of Canada in Gatineau, Quebec. First flight after restoration was made in 2017.

Both BBMF Spitfires making a couple head-to-head passes in front of the crowd. A lot of people probably came to see the fighter jets doing their thing (and yes, those were great too!), but the classics like the Spitfire and Mustang remain my favorites.

A truly historic aircraft that returned to the air in September 2011. This was the 557th Spitfire built (of more than 22000) and was crash landed on the beach at Calais on May 23rd 1940 by Flying Officer Peter Cazenove. It is seen taxying out and kicking up the cut grass at Flying Legends 2012
