George AFB Air Show 1978. 507th TACW based at Shaw AFB, SC. Retired to MASDC with inventory code HV0125, no date given. Transferred to the El Salvador Air Force as serial 622 and Used by the Escuadrón Caza y Bombardeo. Destroyed by mortar fire at Ilopango on 20 Nov 1990.

George AFB Air Show 1978. 314th TAW based at Little Rock AFB, AR. This aircraft later became GC-130E ground trainer at Dyess AFB. It was seen in 2008 on display by main gate at Dyess AFB, TX.

George AFB Airshow 1978. 128th TFS - 116th TFG - Georgia Air National Guard. Retired to MASDC with inventory code FE451 on 12 Jan 1979. Converted to aQF-100F. Transferred to the US Army for Hawk SAM and other trials.

George AFB Air Show 1978. 562nd TFS - 35th TFW Wild Weasel. Delivered new to the USAF in 1964 as a F-105F. Converted to an EF-105F in 1970. Converted to a F-105G in 1972. Ferry flight in Feb 1980 to Wright-Patterson AFB, OH for display at the Air Force Museum.

George AFB Airshow 1978. 84th FIS - 26th AD based at Castle AFB CA. This was a regular squadron and not an ANG unit. It was inactivated in 1981 as the interceptor mission was being transferred to the Air National Guard. 59-0066 was built in Apr 1960. Retired to MASDC with inventory code FN101 on 04 Sep 1985. To AEL Inc of East Alton, IL on 25 Feb 1992 for conversion to a QF-106. To Tyndall AFB, FL on 20 May 1992 and shot down by an AIM-120 on 22 Sep 1995.

George AFB Airshow 1978. Owned by the WGAF this F-104 was operated by the 69th TFTS - 58th TFTW of the USAF based at Luke AFB, AZ. German F-104 training was done in Arizona where the weather was better than in Western Europe. This aircraft was built by Lockheed in 1961. Carried WGAF serials KF+102, DA+321, BG+122 and 20+21. Transferred to the USAF as 63-13243 in 1963. In 1982 the aircraft starred in the movie 'The Right Stuff'. Sold to the USAF on 19 Jul 1983. Later transferred to the Republic of China Air Force as 4368. Crashed in a fatal accident on 24 Mar 1990 in a collision with 4385.

George AFB Air Show 1978. 35th TFW Wild Weasel. New to the 23rd TFW in 1964 as a F-105F. Upgraded to a F-105G in 1972. Retired to MASDC with inventory number FK0087 on 23 Apr 1982. Later moved to Aviation Classics at Reno Stead Airport, NV.

George AFB Air Show 1978. 35th TFW. Wild Weasel. 69-7208 was leased new to the Royal Australian AF from 1970-1973 as A69-7208. Returned to the USAF in Jun 1973. In Jul 1978 upgraded from a F-4E to a F-4G. Crashed on 01 Mar 1995 on the Tonopah - Nellis range. The crew ejected.

George AFB Air Show 1978. Owned by the American Air Museum. Painted in the markings of the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) which was the forerunner of NASA. Ordered as 45-21787, delivered to the USN as BuNo 84029 on 05 May 1947 as a P2B-1S. On to NACA as 137 where it was called 'Fertile Myrtle'. WFU at NAS Litchfield Park on 05Aug 1959 and later transferred to storage at MASDC, Davis Monthan. Restored and delivered to Oakland, CA in Nov 1969. To N91329 with the American Air Museum. Registered to N29KW on 30 Apr 1987. In 2023 dismantled at Fantasy of Flight, Polk City, FL.

George AFB Airshow 1978. 123rd FIS - 142nd FIG - Oregon Air National Guard. Retired to MASDC with inventory code FF394 on 19 Nov 1980. Currently preserved at Robins AFB, GA.

George AFB Airshow 1978. 8th TFS - 49th TFW from Holloman AFB in New Mexico. Retired to AMARC with inventory code FH0153 on 22 Mar 2007. To HVF West, Tucson, AZ. on 10 Aug 2011 and scrapped.

Built for the USAF as 54-136. To MASDC for storage with inventory code CU030 on 21 Jul 1971. Purchased by the Foundation for Airborne Relief as N136AR for modification as a flying hospital but never converted. Official registration was apparently N136AB. Has remained at Mojave ever since. Registration cancelled on 11 Oct 2012. Behind is sister ship N201AR ex 56-2001.

Owned by Al Letcher & Associates. Built in 1947 and registered in the UK as VP773 but ntu and was sold to the RCAF as 17072 on 07 Sep 1948. Sold to the US as N6878D on 17 Jun 1958. The aircraft was substantially damaged while landing following an engine failure at Rochester NY on 06Jun09. Registration cancelled on 10 Sep 2014.

Operated by VA-22 - 'The Fighting Redcocks'. This squadron is still current in 2023 as VFA-22 with the F/A-18F Super Hornet. 160723 rolled into the sea off USS Carl Vinson CVN-70 on 29 Dec 1986 after the brakes failed during re-spotting.
