PHI Air Medical is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona and has more than 65 air ambulance bases throughout the United States, including 11 in Arizona which is the second most popular operating location after Texas with 20 bases. The company is a subsidiary of PHI, Inc. which also has a large fleet of helicopter supporting offshore oil and gas operations in the US and elsewhere. Porter Airlines took delivery of its first five Embraer E195C-2 in late Dec. 2022 and flew them to Toronto for the launch of its first ever scheduled jet service, with routes launched to Ottawa and Montreal, and then Vancouver on Feb. 7th. Porter began operations on Oct. 23, 2006 from CYTZ with DHC Dash 8-400s with 29 acquired by 2017. Porter sought approval to operate CS100 jets jets from YTZ in 2013, but it did not receive government approval. Porter shut down for 18 months during Covid-19, but ordered 30 new E195-C2s in July 2021 and 20 more in July 2022 for a major expansion program.

Bell 430, N430D, was photographed landing at Mesa Falcon Field, Arizona. It is the second Bell 430 to wear this registration. The helicopter was assembled by Bell at its factory in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada and exported to the US. Previous registrations include C-GFNM, N6147X, N74RP, N901RL and N331JE prior to becoming N430D.

This Cessna 525 is based at P19 Stellar Airpark in Chandler, Arizona where upscale houses all have hangars and taxiway access to the runway. The airpark is also the site of the Rotor X kit helicopter factory, formally know as Rotorway.

This Bell 212, N212TH, was operated for many years by Petroleum Helicopters, Inc supporting offshore oil and gas platforms in the Gulf of Mexico and from Santa Barbara, California while registered N1082G. It's now registered as N212TH to Cougar Aviation and primarily used for forest firefighting. Cougar Aviation and Rogers Helicopters have maintenance hangars next door to each other at Fresno Airport and are probably affiliated companies.

This Sikorsky S-92A, C-GVZS, was built in Coatesville, PA and first flown as N160H. It was delivered to PHI (Petroleum Helicopters Inc) in Jan. 2012 and registered N920PH. Between early 2012 and 2019, it flew from PHI heliports in Louisiana (primarily Boothville, Houma and Amelia) to offshore platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. It was permanently retired from the PHI fleet in Sep. 2019 after the company exited Chapter 11 and stored in New Jersey. Sold to Heli One Canada in April 2022 and ferried to CYVR in July 2022 as C-GVZS. Seen outside Heli-One after parts recovery. Cancelled Jan 31, 2023.

The prototype Bell Agusta BA609 tiltrotor, N609TR, made its first flight on March 6, 2003 at the Helicopter flight test center at Arlington Municipal Airport (KGKY), Texas. The program was launched by Bell and Boeing in 1996, but in 1998 Boeing pulled out of the program and Agusta of Italy signed on a development partner on the BA609 tiltrotor and Agusta Bell AB139 helicopter. The first customer demonstration flights, in both airplane and helicopter modes were conducted from a temporary at HAI Heli-Expo 2014 heliport established in the parking lot of Anaheim's Angel Stadium.

The heliport has an air traffic control tower, about 10 parking spots and also hosts Bell LongRangers operated by sister company Papillon Grand Canyon Helicopter's. The helicopters were busy giving air tours in -5C temperatures but the airport was closed with the runway covered in snow. In the summer, Grand Canyon opens a second nearby heliport to accommodate additional passengers.

This Robinson R44 Raven II of Guidance Air was one of four sightseeing helicopters seen at Sedona Airport, Arizona on January 21, 2023 after a recent snowfall. The other helicopters included a second Guidance Air R44 and two AS350s without company logos.

McDonnell Douglas MD900, N9080V, was built in 1993 and the third airframe to fly, since seven prior MD900s were ground test vehicles. Displayed at HAI Heli-Expo 1994 at the Anaheim Convention Center with "Experimental" marks, 2 years after first MD900 flight in Dec 1992 and 11 months before FAA certification in Dec 1994. N9080V was demonstrated in Europe in 1997 and later leased to the USCG for the Hitron anti-drug smuggling program based at NAS Cecil Field, FL, 1998-2000. To UK as N9208V & N55WA, 2005-2012? To Mexico as XA-FAA in 2012. Sold to Dodson Int'l Parts as N883ND in February 2020.

In 1978, this Bell 206B JetRanger, 4X-BJF on fixed floats was operated by Chimavir, an aerial application company owned by Kibbutz agricultural community movement in Israel. Built in 1975, this JetRanger was active in Israel for about 26 years. On March 29, 2001, Chim-Nir Aviation Services was operating 4X-BJF from Megiddo Airport on a contract to drop baits with a vaccine against rabies when it hit a high voltage power line near the village of Wadi Hamam, just west of the Sea of Galilee. Crashed and burned. Two killed.

This Bell Bell 206B JetRanger, 4X-BJF on fixed floats owned by Chimavir was painted in water-soluble paint (with markings "XB-3274" on the cabin and "HCX" on the tail) to appear in a motion picture being filmed in Israel in July 1978. These markings were washed off about an hour after this image was taken and re-photographed. Built in 1975, this JetRanger was active in Israel for about 26 years. It was operating from Megiddo Airport on March 29, 2001 when hit high voltage power line near the village of Wadi Hamam while dropping baits with a vaccine against rabies. It crashed and burned.

DHC-3 Otter N5348G was delivered to the USN as 144674 in October 1956 and flown by VX-6 in Antarctica until retired in Sep 1996. Transferred to the Army National Guard as 0-4674.Retired in Sep 1977. To Civil Air Patrol as N5348G but never entered service. Sold to Red "S" Aircraft sales in Nov. 1978. It arrived in Renton, WA in the Spring of 1978. Modified by Clayton Scott's Jobmaster Inc. which added vertical fins to the top of the horizontal stabilizer to improve performance on floats. This floating hangar was originally built in the late 1920s on Seattle oceanfront at Pier 3 on Elliot Bay. Local aviation pioneer Vern Gorst towed it from the ocean through the locks to establish a seaplane base at the south end of Lake Union at Valley St. and Fairview Ave. Aviation pioneer Lana Kurtzer bought the hangar in the mid-1930s and moved it west to a new shore facility at 950 Westlake Ave. N. in 1947. Lake Union Air bought the seaplane base after Kurtzer died in 1988. but fire destroyed the hangar in 1991. Then Kenmore Air bought the historic Kurtzer property in 1993.

This Crescent Helicopters 206L-1 was contracted by Skylink to support the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) in former Yugoslavia in spring 1992. Bell N27511 and Era Helicopters Bell 212, N360EH (UN141) were based in Skopje to support UN forces on the Kosovo border. In Nov. 1994, three Skylink 206L-1s replaced Crescent's 206L-1s. To Helijet in Canada in June 1996 as C-GHJT. To USA in July 1998 as N211EL.
