The fifth (and final) Bell 525 test vehicle.

The Hill Helicopters HX50 design was unveiled in 2020 by Jason Hill, founder and chief engineer of the company. Two mock ups were presented in 2023, one with retractable wheeled undercarriage and the other with skids as pictured at HAI Heli Expo 2024. Aimed at the private helicopter owner, first flight is expected in 2024 after testing of the company designed 500 HP turbine engine. There are 1,000+ orders for the HX50 and HC50 (commercial certified version to follow in 2026) at the time of uploading.

A new 2024 R66 equipped with a symmetrical horizontal stabilizer and tail cone. FAA certified for the R66 in September 2023 and R44 models in February 2024, it will become the standard production tail for these aircraft and available as a retro-fit for older aircraft.

On July 6, 2022, ROTAK took delivery of its first two CH-47D from Columbia Helicopters. The two helis (both ex US Army a/c) were N377RA and N388RA. Unfortunately, the latter was destroyed on July 21, 2022 already, killing both crew. N366RA shown here was built in 1980 as a CH-47C (FY serial # 79-23400) and in 1991/92 was modified to the CH-47D standard, becoming 91-00244. It joined the ROTAK fleet in November 2022, getting this attractive and colorful livery. A 4th CH-47D (N344RA, ex 86-01663) was delivered to ROTAK as recent as January 2024. The company also operates three Kaman K-Max's.

Capitol Helicopters, based at Sacramento Executive Airport (KSAC), was founded in 2014 and operates more than 20 turbine powered helicopters. Among the fleet are three UH-60A Blackhawks (N602NC, N603CK and N605CK). Other types operated for utility aerial work such as firefighting, search and rescue, construction and other external loads are Bell 205, Bell 212S, Bell 407, Bell 429 and MD500F.

Former USMC 158286 was retired to AMARC in 2009. The HH-1N has been with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff department since 2010.

McDonnell Douglas MD900, N9080V, was built in 1993 and the third airframe to fly, since seven prior MD900s were ground test vehicles. Displayed at HAI Heli-Expo 1994 at the Anaheim Convention Center with "Experimental" marks, 2 years after first MD900 flight in Dec 1992 and 11 months before FAA certification in Dec 1994. N9080V was demonstrated in Europe in 1997 and later leased to the USCG for the Hitron anti-drug smuggling program based at NAS Cecil Field, FL, 1998-2000. To UK as N9208V & N55WA, 2005-2012? To Mexico as XA-FAA in 2012. Sold to Dodson Int'l Parts as N883ND in February 2020.

Former US Army OH-6A 68-17213 was supplied to the Fuerza Aérea Nicaragua with serial 516 in 1970. It was written off in an accident on August 20, 1975. Returned to the USA, the helicopter was used as a source of parts by the Kansas City Police Department. Acquired by Moog, Inc Integrated Defense Systems at a Government Service auction in 2018, the hulk was refurbished to display the company's products at trade shows.

Ex US Army serial 79-23286, registered to Timberline Helicopters as N286TH in late 2016. High Performance Helicopters took it on board in 2017 and used it for trial and certification flights of (Australian company) Helitak's Fire Tank FT4500 system. Certified in January 2020, the water tank is seen here mounted under the heli's cabin, measuring only 12 inches in it's empty profile. It takes the - also visible - orange HP6000 snorkel pump just 46 seconds to fill the 1100 US-Gallon tank, which then expands under the belly. After the drop, it automatically retracts to its empty profile again.

In 1985, STAR Flight (commonly known as Travis County STAR Flight) began operating as a joint venture program of Travis County, the City of Austin and the Brackenridge Hospital. Having started simple with a Bell 206 Jet Ranger and later a Bell 206L3 Long Ranger, it received larger and more complex Bell 412EP's as from 1990. Those were eventually replaced by EC135 and EC145 helicopters and in 2019, Travis County STAR Flight became the first ambulance service AW169 opertor in the US, introducing three units (N307TC, N308TC and N309TC).

This MD530F was originally built as a Hughes 369E (msn 0128E) N5242C and flew as N600TP with the Tulsa Police Department, OK. It was imported to Canada by Southern Mountain Helicopters as C-GFYR in Dec. 1995 and later flew with D.K. Heli-Cropper Int'l, Vancouver Island Helicopters, and Harbour City Helicopters. Back in the US in Sep. 1998 as N30042, it was converted by MD to a "hot and high" MD 369FF for the Pima County Sheriff's department. On Jan. 31 2011, it crashed during an attempted pinnacle landing on Waterman Peak near Marana, Arizona. The pilot died and two passengers injured.

This new EC145 (BK 117C-2) was displayed in primer by Eurocopter at the HAI Heli-Expo 2009 trade show in the Anaheim Convention Center (across the street from Disneyland). It was delivered to Era Helicopters, reregistered N702LM, and then leased to the Comision Federal de Electricidad in Mexico as XA-UPQ. It was returned to Era and later sold to Air Methods to be an air ambulance in 2018. It was registered N145TJ in 2019 when it replaced another EC145 (msn 9092) flying for JeffSTAT, the air medical transportation service of the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

Destined for delivery to Airmedic, an air ambulance and critical care medical transport service based in Quebec, Canada, N517AH was displayed at Heli-Expo 2020 by Airbus Helicopters (marketing the type as the EC-145e). One of three of these helicopters to join Airmedic's fixed wing and helicopter fleet, it was registered C-FTMQ on November 20, 2020.

Built in 1980, this Blackhawk is ex US Army 80-23499. It was registered as N160BQ before joining Coulson-Unical as N60CU. Being an ex military UH-60A, this airframe is in the FAA "Restricted" category and as such is limited to aerial firefighting, forestry work and pest control, all of which are in the interest of the general public (public service). The two companies Coulson & Unical joint forces in 2019 and created a joint venture to market and operate UH-60 and CH-47's, mainly in the fire fighting business.

This brandnew civilian Blackhawk is the first of three destined for the San Diego Fire Department and is based at the Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport near San Diego.

Displayed at HAI Heli-Expo 2020 in Anaheim, CA, this colorful Bell 429 was delivered to Southern California Edison on February 28, 2020. SCE is the primary electricity supply company for much of Southern California and utilize their helicopters for construction and maintenance of their infrastructure.

Former Bristow Helicopters Super Puma departing Anaheim. While displayed at HAI Heli-Expo 202o in full fire fighting configuration, the external tank and other equipment was removed for the flight back to Canada.
