Served the USAAF and USAF from June 1945 until stored at Davis Monthan in June 1973. Later served several civilian operators until damaged in a force landing in Alaska on 17 January 2007 when N82FA with Brooks Fuel Inc. 62 years of service - beat that you modern jets!

Still wearing ARDCO titles, this aircraft has joined the Florida Air Transport fleet and has a new cargo floor.

Looking very nice after being restored at OPF. The aircraft only got as far as Douglas, Georgia on a ferry flight to Alaska in October 2005 when engine problems cut the flight short. Sadly, it was abandoned and the airport sold the aircraft for scrap in June 2017. Seen at Douglas, GA on Jun 18th 2022. Looks to have the 4th engine off and getting repairs

Arriving in Bolivia in 1973, this C-54G-5-DO was formerly 45-0551 and although looking rather sad here, was smartly restored as CP-2292 for Air Beni in 1997 and was abandoned at Pucullpa after a drugs flight; now in a very neglected state

Delivered new to USAAF in August 1945. Now preserved in the museum at Warner Robins AFB, Georgia.

Built in August 1945 for the USAAF as 45-578. Served TWA and Seaboard as N79065. Operated by NASA as 238 and 438. Bought by Air Response in March 1986 and operated as a tanker with spraying equipment on wing trailing edges.

Ex USAAF 45-0483. Served Lloyd International from May 1962 until sale to Invicta Airways in June 1966. Later D-ADAD, EC-BSK and 9Q-COC.

This C-54G wearing serial 5555 is undergoing an overhaul at RAF Burtonwood (Lancs) where the USAF had a major facility. The Skymaster still wears its code '406' which it used during its participation in the Berlin Airlift. Very rare, scanned from a 3" x 2" print

CAT was one of the civilian airlines active on behalf of the US government in Indo-China during the Vietnam War. It wore no markings other than its registration and Taiwanese flag. B-1016 was acquired directly from the USAF in 1967 and was sold in 1975 as N65132.

It doesn't show, but this immaculate Skymaster was delivered to the USAAF in June 1945 (as 45-507), which means that when this photo was taken, this beauty had just celebrated its 61st birthday. Roger Brooks purchased this former Arizona-based airtanker (ex Tanker 161) in February 2006. He used it to fly all kinds of freight out of its new homebase at Fairbanks, Alaska. Unfortunately it crashlanded near Nenana, AK on 17 January 2007. The wreck was stored at Nenana Airport and was still there by 2018.
