Early January 2010, Haiti was struck by a massive earthquake. As the airport of its capital Port-au-Prince had only limited capacity to receive large aircraft, Dutch aid was flown to Curacao and reloaded onto Florida Air Transport's C-54G N406WA, which brought it to Port-au-Prince.

Delivered to the USAAF as 45-491 in 1945. Renamed to USAF in 1947. Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB with park code CC208 in 1972. Sold to Dross Metals then to Waig Aircraft in 1976. Registered as N406WA in 1979 and converted to a fire bomber then to ARDCO in 1982. To Florida Air Transport in 2006 and fire bombing tank removed. To Jet One Express in 2011. Damaged beyond repair when the nosewheel collapsed at San Juan, PR in 2012.

It was by this time operated by Florida Air Transport (Dec 2007 - Oct 2011).

Delivered to USAAF as 45-491 in 06.45. Retired 01.72. Sold in 11.75 and registered N406WA in 03.79. ARDCO Inc '119' from 01.82 operating as a tanker. Here standing by the retardant liquid installation at Klamath Falls.

Immaculate R2600 powered DC-4/C-54.

One very good looking DC-4/C-54. Abandoned at San Juan International Airport after a nose wheel collapse while taxiing in March 2012. Was already slated for scrapping due to wing corrosion when blown into drainage ditch during Hurricane Maria in September 2017.

Still wearing ARDCO titles, this aircraft has joined the Florida Air Transport fleet and has a new cargo floor.

Probably the last "Super DC-4" still flying. The R-2000 engines on this aircraft were replaced with R-2600 engines, which resulted in a significant increase in performance.
