Blackburn Buccaneer S Mk.2 XN977. Royal Navy 801 Naval Air Squadron code V-230, embarked on Royal Navy HMS Victorious R38. A section of 801 NAS disembarked to RAAF Pearce for flight operation while HMS Victorious was berthed at Port of Fremantle, Western Australia, November 1966. XN977 was written off on 8th March 1982 and scrapped October 1991

The photo was taken at RAAF East Sale in late 1961 or early 1962. It had a number of deployments in the early 1960s to RAAF East Sale with other B-57Bs as part of the USAF Crowflight deployments. Early 1962 it was back at East Sale in the same role of medium-level air sampling the filters were located in the special wingtip pods. Later in 1962, the USAF moved the Crowflight deployments to RAAF Laverton with Laverton hosting U-2s. The B-57Bs were stationed at the Avalon airfield. This aircraft sadly crashed after take-off from Laverton with the loss of both the crew on the 1962-09-17.

A closer look at the "Fulton Star System" recovery gear as fitted to 65-0971 and 65-0985. Also clearly visible is the serial number on the forward fuselage.

One of two HC-130H aircraft deployed to RAAF Base Pearce in November 1966 both were on standby for a USA space flight. Both had the "Fulton Star System" recovery equipment fitted. The other HC-130H had the serial 65-0971.

This HC-130H was one of two deployed to RAAF Base Pearce in November 1966 and was on standby for a USA space flight. The other was 65-0985.

Apparently the initial serial was FM-1150, in 1974 it became FM-1710 and finally, in 1983 it became M23-10.
