This B-47 was salvaged from NAWS China Lake, CA after 20 years of storage there. It was restored to flying condition, and its 43 minute gear-down delivery flight from there to the museum at Castle AFB on 17 June 1986 was the last flight of this type worldwide.

This B-47 was used by the USN and retired to China Lake, CA. It was flown from there to Castle AFB on Jun 17, 1986; believed to be the last flight of a B-47.

The six-engined B-47 was America's first long-range jet bomber.
