Although not marked at the time, this Voodoo was with 409 Squadron based at near by Comox, BC when photographed. The fighter is on display at the entrance to the Abbotsdord Airport main terminal at the time of uploading.

Former USAF 57-363. To Canada as 101035 in 1971. Used as ground trainer 873B from 1987. Withdrawn from use in 1992. Preserved at Abbotsford from 1994.

Former USAF 57-363 stored in 1968, this Voodoo was taken on strength by the Canadian Armed Forces in September 1970. Retired by the Canadians in 1987, the aircraft became an instructional airframe (873 B) until returning to Abbotsford in 1995. Always a favorite at the Abbotsford Air Show, the Voodoo was displayed in front of the Abbotsford Flying Club / Air Show office until placed at the the main airport terminal entrance.

Ex USAF 57-363. Retired as instructional airframe 873 B 20 May 1987. Struck off 10 June 1992. Put on display here by 1995, still in 409 (Nighthawks) All Weather Fighter Squadron markings. They were based at CFB Comox, BC.

Taxiing out in preparation to return to Comox after flying at the 1982 March Open House. 409Sqn "Nighthawks" brought a pair of Voodoo's for the flying display in place of the Thunderbirds which were still grounded after the tragic crash at Indian Springs in January 1982. The previous fall saw 409Sqn bring a 4 ship of Voodoo's to March.
