The Green Knights of VMA(AW)-121 - normally coded "VK-xx", just returned from a WestPac and Indian Ocean deployment with the USS Ranger (CV-61) and within Carrier Air Wing TWO that lasted from 24 February to 24 August 1989. BuNo 154167 was delivered to the US Navy in 1968. It was transferred to the USMC and later returned to the US Navy. After a storage period at Andrews (MD) from May 1998 it was handed over to the National Air and Space Museum, Steven F Udvar-Hazy Center (VA) where it is preserved since. 154167 is seen here returning from a mission at El Toro, check those nice airbrakes!

The Navy accepted this airplane as an A-6A in 1968, becoming a Vietnam and Desert Storm veteran. Before retirement and display at the Udvar-Hazy Center, it accumulated more than 7,500 flying hours, over 6,500 landings, 767 carrier landings and 712 catapult launches.
