The jet efflux from the F135-PW-100 turbofan adds to soaring afternoon temperatures and rising excitement as one of two F-35As taxi in at Yelahanka. Keenly awaited by many, the arrivals were met with much enthusiasm to finally see these fifth-generation fighters for the first time in India. This Lightning II is from 356th FS "Green Demons", 354th FW based at Eielson AFB. Over the next few days, the F-35A Demo Team would enthral the public with aerobatics at Aero India 2023.

This Lightning II made its first flight on 29 October 2020 and was delivered to the 356th Fighter Squadron "Green Demons" at Eielson AFB (AK) on 16 December 2020.
