Faaa (Papeete) was not part of Polynesian's regular DC-3 network and its reason for being there is not known. 5W-FAA was sold in Indonesia as PK-RDB. It never arrived after being impounded at Darwin (Australia). It sat at Darwin for six years until it was wrecked in Cyclone Tracy in December 1974.
