Germany produced around 3,300 D.VII aircraft in the second half of 1918. This rush for quantity lead to many production defects, however, the D.VII proved to be a remarkably successful design and quickly proved itself to be a formidable aircraft. The Armistice ending the war specifically required, in the fourth clause of the "Clauses Relating to the Western Front", that Germany surrender all D.VIIs to the Allies. The type saw widespread use with many countries after WWI.

This D.VII was built by the Albatros works. Quality control was not Fokker's forte and pilots preferred Albatros-built aircraft.
