Operating a shuttle freight service to the north out of Red Lake, together with all-white North Star Air colleague, C-FWUI. Still wearing the now sadly faded late colours of the US Forest Service where it operated as N142Z. I had photographed this aircraft in a earlier version of the livery at McCall, Idaho in 1999.

Originally US Army Air Force 43-16028, the last time I saw this aircraft in 1986, it was still piston powered with the US Forest Service. The sixth turbo DC-3 converted by Basler in 1991, it was sold to Ken Borek Air in 2013. It has been registered to North Star Air since May 3, 2017.

The Basler BT-67 is a fixed-wing aircraft produced by Basler Turbo Conversions of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. It is a retrofitted Douglas DC-3 airframe, with modifications designed to improve the DC-3's serviceable lifetime. The conversion includes fitting the airframe with Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67R turboprop engines, lengthening the fuselage, strengthening the airframe, upgrading the avionics, and making modifications to the wings' leading edge and wing tip (Source: Wikipedia). Here seen leaving Guayaquil. (Nikon D610 + Nikkor 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6G AF-S VR ED)
