CP Air's first seven 737s, delivered October 1968 - March 1969 were non-Advanced 737-217s. This one was delivered December 20, 1968. Five of the early aircraft were sold to PEOPLExpress, C-FCPE leaving March 1983 as N43PE. With Continental Airlines after PEOLPExpress merged in 1987, it was re-registered N14233 in 1989. The aircraft was sold in March 1999 and scrapped.

About to land at Yellowknife Airport. Displaying promotional material for its Fort Smith base on the fuselage : "Fort Smith : Unexpected, Unforgettable." Sustained substantial damage in a local training accident on 14 April 2023 when the left main landing gear collapsed on touchdown at Fort Smith and the aircraft departed the runway.

Delivered new in 1988 to Ontario Express and here on ferry flight to its new operator Corpac Canada/Samaritan Air Ambulance at Calgary. Based at Fort Smith/NT with Northwestern Air Lease in 2022.

Canadian Pacific Airlines used this registration on a Lockheed Lodestar and a Bristol Britannia before taking delivery from Boeing of CF-CPE December 20, 1968. The aircraft was sold to PEOPLExpress in March 1983 as N434PE. CPA served Watson Lake from 1942 when the US Army built the airport as part of the Northwest Staging Route to Alaska and Russia. The log construction terminal building was designated a Yukon historical site (joining the Sign Post Forest along the Alaska Highway) in 2019.

An early customer for the 737, CP Air had 7 basic models in the fleet before the advanced version became available.
