Seen here is D-5810 carrying "UFO" on its tail (that had the few remaining Starfighters on strength) getting ready for take off for the final RNLAF F-104 mission on 21 November 1984, together with D-8062, D-8258, D-5803 and D-5804. Unfortunately, the weather on this historic day was very bad.

In 1983 we went on a tienertour day trip to Volkel: by train to Oss and by rental bike to Volkel. A trip of over three hours and in the afternoon the same way back.

Seen here at the NLC (Nationale Luchtvaart College) at Hoofddorp as instructional airframe. Around early December 1997 it left this college and was transported to the MLM storage (Air Force Museum).

Owned by Steve Alex, being restored to flyworthy status (project). Here it is seen temporary outside, normally it can be found inside the hangar. It arrived at Bangor on 21 July 2013.

After being wfu the Dutch Starfighters were stored at Ypenburg. In 1987 a spotters' day was held to take pictures of the aircraft in the storage area.

ThIS TF-104G of Conversie Afdeling Volkel (CAV, in English conversion unit of Volkel air base) was delivered to the RNLAF on 16 Nov'63. It started flying with the Operational Conversion Unit (OCU) and was transferred to CAV in Jan'68. It operated with that unit until Jun'84 when it entered a retirement unit called UFO (Uit Faserings Onderdeel, in English Phasing-Out Unit. It was withdrawn from service on 21 Nov'84. After storage and being used as an instructional airframe in the 90s, it returned to the RNLAF in '97 and was sold to a private person in Everett (WA) in Sep'10.
