Seen here is D-5810 carrying "UFO" on its tail (that had the few remaining Starfighters on strength) getting ready for take off for the final RNLAF F-104 mission on 21 November 1984, together with D-8062, D-8258, D-5803 and D-5804. Unfortunately, the weather on this historic day was very bad.

This C-47's identity had been a mystery for some time but it is now believed to be C-47B 43-48886 c/n 26147. The aircraft had been converted to C-47D and EC-47P. It was operated in SE Asia by the USAF and was subsequently issued to the South Vietnamese Air Force who operated it with the code "WB" until 1975, when it was returned to the USAF who presumably issued it to Singapore. When once inspected on Sentosa it was showing traces of the serial 886 and the code WB. The aircraft also carried the number "707" for a while (as above). It was later scrapped. It was about to make a test flight after some maintenance work and I was invited along in the left seat! We performed some interesting but, for me, stomach churning manoeuvres for about 30 minutes. It was quite an exhilarating experience but I'm not sure I'd want to do it again now!

Operator possibly Oasis. Port wing was detached from the fuselage. However, it did fly again as it was eventually withdrawn from use and stored at Manila in early 1990.
