Just arrived from Germany for the Historic Aircraft Museum at Southend Airport, where this Storch was later painted in Luftwaffe North Africa colours. Said to be ex Swedish AF 3802 and OK-ADR, having been built in Prague in 1943. After it was sold off when the museum closed in 1983, it found its way to the Fantasy of Flight collection in Florida.

Flew into Southend from Calais on 1st June 1972 and installed in the Historic Aircraft Museum. Reported at the time as built in Prague in 1943, ex-OE-ADR. Doubts at the time over its c/n, quoted as either "3812" or "110094" ex-Swedish AF Fv3812". Seen here after recent application of Luftwaffe colours as "CB-VD". Sold for £24,000 at the Philip's auction on 10th May 1983 when the museum closed. Displayed at the Whitehall Theatre of War and then sold to Kermit Weeks for his Fantasy of Flight Museum.

Unfortunately I know little of this aircraft and the picture. The silo in the background shows 'Hermann Müller Zement', so it was taken in West Germany, probably in the Eiffel region. The identity of the aircraft is blurry. According to the Swedish Svensk Flyghistorisk Forum this is former Swedish AF No.3812 and Austria OE-ADR, making it c/n 110064. If correct, then this aircraft is in now in the Kermit Weeks collection.

There is some debate about this Storch's true identity, but it is thought to be c/n 110064. It was sold for £24000 at the Philip's auction on 10 May 1983, then went to the USA where it became N2405P. This registration was cancelled on 11 February 2011. It was apparently delivered new to the Royal Swedish Air Force as Fv.3812. Other IDs suggested are D-EYWB (prior to delivery to Sweden) and N464FB. (It was reported in Wrecks & Relics 10 to have gone to the USA as N156FS after the closure of the Whitehall Theatre of War, but this has the c/n 4642.)
