Ecuador received 5 IAI101 Aravas in the mid 1970s and a further two IAI201s as attrition replacements in 1992. One of the latter, T-206 was later re-serialled E-206 and operated with GAE44 from Río Amazonas (SESM / PTZ) until it was sadly written off on 15th March 2016 with the loss of all 22 on board.

After serving with the Ejército del Aire this Baron was stored at Cuatro Vientos and finally left for a paintball court near San Lorenzo del Escorial where it probably will end.

One of only 3 IAI Arava's based in Shell, in fact these are the only Arava's in the whole of Ecuador! Unfortunately she crashed and was written off killing 22 people during a parachute jumping flight in the Amazon province of Pastaza; on the 15th of March 2016.
