K25 slide scan. Delivered 1979, withdrawn 1999 at Madrid upon Aviaco's integration into Iberia. Flown to Baneasa 2004 as N481CM, scrapped 2012. Aviaco's -34 models with their higher gross weight would manage the trip to the Canary Islands without a fuel stop.

This DC-9 was originally delivered to Aviaco in November 1979 and is pictured taxying in after arriving from Spain. The plane transferred over to Iberia in September 1999 and flew with them until November 2002, when it was ferried to Bucharest - Baneasa (BBU) for storage and subsequent scrappage.

By early 1999, Aviaco was 100% owned by Iberia. This Aviaco DC-9 was used by the parent company as one of their small fleet of DC-9s flying connecting services from Miami to/from some Central/South American cities.

Delivered new 30th Nov 1979 and withdrawn from use LEMD (Madrid) Dec 1999. Sold as N481CM 6th Nov 2002 and flown to LRBS (Bucharest) Nov 2002 for further storage and later scrapped

As a part of the Aviaco sponsorship of Spanish cycling tour (La Vuelta) some of their aircraft wore stickers with cyclists running alongside the cheatline. Despite the merger with Iberia, this DC-9 was never painted in the Spanish flag airline livery.
