Registered to Comex in March 1972, ex TransportFlug D-ACAB. Recorded as acquired by SFAir in May 1975 but I have found no exact date. This photo was taken 22 days before Mick Bajcar photographed it at Paris Le Bourget. So, I don't know if it was still Comex or if it was SFAir when I photographed it at Wevelgem. It may have been in the process of being readied for delivery to SFAir.

Exported to the USA as N8060C in 1979. Crashed in flames after striking trees on final approach in fog near McCormick, South Carolina, on19 November 1979 killing both crew. The cargo was 15,000 lbs (approx 7,000Kg) of Marijuana. At the time it was operated by Tiburon Aircraft Inc.

Delivered to the US Navy as R5D-3 BuAer 50877 in February 1945. Later converted to RC-54V for the US Coast Guard. Sold in 1957. Operated by SF Air from May 1972 until storage in 1979.
