On 02 Aug 1990 she was operating BA149 to Kuala Lumpur with scheduled stops at Kuwait and Madras. Unfortunately her arrival in Kuwait coincided with the Iraqi invasion. The passengers and crew were taken prisoner and a number were later used as human shields at key locations by the Iraqi forces. The aircraft was destroyed at the airport. Dates being reported as 18 or 27 Feb 1991.
