Seen in an earlier livery about to land on 9R at MIA in November, 1976. It was originally Lufthansa D-ABOL delivered in May. 1961 and was sold to Pan Am as N784PA in March, 1964. Avianca bought it in April, 1973. From March 1977 until May, 1980 it was leased to SAM Columbia. In April, 1983 it was bought by Boeing Military Airplane Co. Wichita KS used for KC-135 parts as N3831X. By April, 1992 it was broken up.

One of eight Boeing 720s originally operated by Lufthansa, this aircraft was delivered in 5.61 as D-ABOL "Stuttgart" and sold to Pan Am in 3.64 as N784PA. Purchased by Avianca in 4.73 and leased to SAM (in full colours) from 3.77 to 5.80; to N3831X two months after this shot and used for parts in the KC-135E programme with the remnants being broken up at Davis Monthan
