Delivered to the USAF in Dec-1943 as 42-100737. In Aug-1950 it was taken on charge by the Norwegian Air Force as 2100737 and in Oct-1956 it was transferred to the Danish Air Force as 68-687, changed in 1960 to K-687. It was withdrawn from use in Jan-1981 and was then stored at Værløse. From there it went to the Danmarks Flyvemuseum in Billund in Sep-1987. By Jan-2002 it was stored at Vandel, and in Sep-2003 it arrived at the Dansk Veteranflysamling which in Jun-2007 changed name to Danmarks Flymuseum. In 1976 it flew as "823561/HG479" in the film A Bridge Too Far.

For the movie 'A Bridge too Far' many Dakota's were assembled on Deelen airbase, where the air transport shots were taken. The Danish air force had some of their Dakotas dispatched.
