This replica was built in 1998 by the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport, NY. It was flown in 1999 and again in 2013 from Lake Keuka, which abuts Hammondsport. The original Curtiss Model E Flying Boat was the first practical flying boat and was built for civilian use as well as for the US Navy.
