Delivered to Eastern Air Lines as N498A in 1953. To Southern Airways as N255S in 1963 then to other owners after 1973. Withdrawn from use at Paris-Flying Tigers, TX by 1985. Still there in 2024.

This is a former Eastern Airlines Martin 404 delivered January 23, 1953. Later with Southern Airways, it came to Florida Airlines via subsidiary Shawnee Airlines in 1977 as Southern ran into financial difficulties. Florida Airlines ran into financial problems itself as deregulation allowed majors to fly secondary routes, declaring bankruptcy in 1980. They flew their Martinliners during restructuring until the final shutdown in 1981. With Pro Air from 1983 - 89, the aircraft has been stored at Flying Tigers Airport outside Paris, TX since 1990.

Southern first acquired Martin 404s in 1962. This one was acquired in 1963, but the particular titles and markings were only used during the period 1966-1970. This plane now sits in poor condition in a field in Paris, Texas -- there since at least 1992.

It went to a museum at Toco (Flying Tiger Airport), Texas, in 1990. The museum closed circa 1997. The aircraft remained until at least 2015 (still in Pro Air cols). Fate since then is unknown.

Back with Florida Airlines from a lease to Air South with their titles removed.
