Douglas C-47 43-49455 was delivered to the RAF as Dakota KK135 in 1944. Returned to the USAF in 1956, it was transferred to the German Air Force in 1957. Registered N3161Q in 1970, the aircraft first came to Malta for storage 1970 - 74 before working in Egypt for oil companies with a resurgence of off shore exploration. Pictured after service with Pyramid Airlines (1978 - 84), it was registered N513GL circa 1986 and moved to Malaga, Spain. Slated for turbo conversion in the early 90s, it instead moved to Poland where it remains, now preserved at Zerniki Gadki Airfield in Gądki, Poland .
