This is a home built experimental aircraft that at one point held seven Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI) class is C-l.a records for speed and distance. It first flew in 1965 at Detroit - Willow Run where I had photographed it in 1978, over forty-six years ago!

This is an experimental homebuilt aircraft built for the sole purpose of setting records in its weight class, at one time held seven world records for speed and distance. A one-of-a-kind aircraft, Prof. Ed Lesher was listed on the operating limitations as the only pilot qualified to fly it. Built in 1965, it is now displayed in the FXB building on the North Campus of the University of Michigan. The Lesher Nomad, an experimental homebuilt 2-place tail-pusher, is visible in the background.
